Stretch & flex your acting muscles with director/producer/writer/development executive Traci Carter Holsey! A true multi-hyphenate, Traci most recently wrapped the Ryan Murphy Half Initiative Director’s Shadowing Program. She’s been called an “actor’s director” and has an advanced sense of story, gives stellar notes and redirects and has a passion for elevating stories with humor and heart.

Traci’s career began with an internship at the Walt Disney Studios and worked as a Producer for more than a decade at Black Entertainment Television. Raised as a “theater kid” Traci has always found a way to have a parallel career as an actor and worked with a plethora of performers while running sessions at the studio formerly known as “The Casting Network.” Traci’s career as a development executive is in full swing in her partnership with Niecy Nash Bett’s Chocolate Chick Inc.

Traci’s current comedic micro short “Take the Cake” which she wrote and directed, is on the film festival circuit winning “Most Original Concept” at the Georgia Comedy Festival and is set to screen at the 2024 Fall Houston Comedy Film Festival and the Austin Micro Comedy Festival. Her light drama short, “The Promposal” was an official selection in the LA Live Score Film Festival, The Hollywood Gold Awards, The Golden State Film Festival and the Rhode Island Black Film Festival.

Traci earned an M.F.A in Television/Film Production with an emphasis on Directing from Mount Saint Mary’s University. Traci is a proud member of the Alliance of Women Directors and was chosen for the 2023 Cohort for the Black Director’s Initiative, is a past board member of the Black Girls Film Camp and is an active member of the Producers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild.
